Basetao spreadsheet: ten-plus years of history, built for collectors more than spreadsheets

Checked and edited .

Short version: Basetao has operated since the early 2010s and is known among collectors, but its review evidence is thin and split across two Trustpilot pages, with complaints about inflated shipping and unpaid insurance claims. It suits careful buyers of collectibles more than fast spreadsheet hauls. Try a couple of our 10,000+ finds there before trusting it with more.

How Basetao compares with Mulebuy

Basetao has been operating since the early 2010s, which makes it one of the oldest agents in this list. Its reputation is strongest among hobby and collectibles buyers, such as figures, model kits and trading cards, where careful handling matters. Its own site still carries a 2026 copyright and describes forwarding and drop-shipping services as well as buying.

Against Mulebuy, Basetao is less slick: reviewers describe a dated interface, no mobile app, extra charges for box-condition photos and slower support than newer agents. In return it offers a decade-long record.

Can Basetao take over if Mulebuy stays down?

For hobby and collectible items, yes; for fast spreadsheet fashion buying, it will feel slow. Its longevity is the main reason to consider it.

Basetao is a long-running choice for collectibles, less suited to fast spreadsheet buying.

Moving your Mulebuy links to Basetao

  1. Collect the link column of your Mulebuy sheet in one copy.
  2. Run it through the converter. Copy the clean marketplace link it returns and paste it into Basetao's search bar, which accepts Taobao, Weidian and 1688 links.
  3. Spot-check a handful of rows on Basetao: sellers re-list items and change size options.
  4. Keep the raw Taobao, Weidian and 1688 links next to the old ones in your sheet.

Shipping to Italy and the rest of Europe with Basetao

Basetao's audience is spread thinly, with France the largest single country. Ask about tax-included EU lines and expect a more manual process than Mulebuy's.

Before you pay Basetao for shipping to the EU, add the €3 duty per item category (parcels up to €150, since July 2026) and VAT on goods, shipping and duty, 22% in Italy; the import duty calculator turns a Basetao quote into a delivered price, and the Milan page covers Italy's buyer-fine rule.

Basetao spreadsheets

Basetao spreadsheets attract around 30 searches a month in the US, and the agent itself about 17,200 worldwide; its largest markets are France (14%), Lithuania (11%), the US (11%). The best sheets show when they were last checked, carry the raw Taobao, Weidian or 1688 link, and come straight from their creator rather than a copy with swapped referral codes.

Because the products live on the marketplaces, a sheet built for Basetao works on any agent after conversion, and your old Mulebuy sheet works on Basetao the same way.

Who Basetao suits best

Basetao's audience is concentrated in France (14%), Lithuania (11%), the US (11%). Italy barely features, so expect less shared experience with Italian delivery. The thing to test on a small first order is the caveat buyers mention most: i.nflated-shipping complaints; very few reviews

Before your first Basetao order

  • Read the written terms: free storage period, return window and any fees, on Basetao's own help pages.
  • Pay per order by card or PayPal, not by topping up a balance.
  • Check QC photos the day they arrive and ask for measurements if size matters.
  • Ship soon after the last item lands, rather than using the full storage period.

Keep an eye on Basetao's newest reviews rather than its average. The pattern that preceded Mulebuy's trouble, silent support plus delayed refunds, is the one to watch for. If it appears, your clean links let you move in an afternoon; the status board shows dated statuses for every agent.
