How Mulebuy's warehouse worked
Every agent order passes through a warehouse in China. Sellers ship there, staff receive and photograph each item, and items wait until you submit a parcel. Mulebuy's terms were generous: 90 days of free storage, free QC photos, and consolidation of items from many sellers into one box. Reviewers praised the packing quality and the speed of the photos. The warehouse was also where most of the pre-August complaints began: the five-day return window started from storage, and packed weights often came out far above the estimate.

Rehearsal: the trial pack that saves money
Italian and US buyers searched "mulebuy rehearsal" a fair amount, because it is the fix for surprise shipping prices. A rehearsal is a paid trial packing. The warehouse packs your parcel as it would ship, records the real weight and box size, and you choose a line knowing the actual price. Then the parcel ships as packed. For anything with shoes, jackets or bulky items, it usually pays for itself by letting you pick the right line or remove packaging.

The August 2026 raid reports
On 9 August 2026 the r/FashionReps moderators published a journal describing a local-government investigation and raid at Mulebuy's warehouse, with photos of what was described as a sealed site. The moderators labelled the cause as rumoured. No authority, court record or Mulebuy statement has confirmed a raid since. What has been consistent is buyers' own experience: from mid-August, items stuck at the warehouse for weeks, received orders with no photos, and items marked destroyed after a shipping request.
Whatever the cause, the practical meaning is the same. A warehouse that is not shipping is the worst place to have items, because you have already paid for them and only the agent can release them.
The raid is unconfirmed; the stuck items are not.

The Mulebuy episode suggests a simple rule: the less time items spend in any warehouse, the less you can lose. Order the items for one parcel together, approve QC quickly, and ship within a few weeks of the last arrival rather than using the full free period. Items marked destroyed
A few reviewers since August describe items in the warehouse being marked as destroyed, sometimes weeks after they asked for shipment. Agents sometimes destroy items that cannot legally be shipped, such as goods a line refuses, but they normally explain why and refund or offer alternatives. Items marked destroyed without explanation and without a refund are part of the wider problem. Screenshot the status, ask in writing for the reason and a refund, and include it in any payment dispute.

Where agent warehouses usually are
Most agents keep warehouses in Guangdong or Zhejiang, close to the sellers and logistics hubs that serve Taobao, Weidian and 1688. Some run several warehouses for different marketplaces. Mulebuy did not publish a verifiable address, and buyers searching "mulebuy warehouse location" will mostly find guesses. For your purposes the location matters less than the agent's written storage terms and whether parcels are leaving it.
Storage terms and shipping activity matter more than the address.
When you do use a new agent's warehouse, check the storage countdown in your account now and then. Some agents charge daily fees after the free period and dispose of unclaimed items after a further deadline, which is written in their terms.
